Germany and Italy appointed organisers of World Masters Championships

At its recent meeting in Lausanne, the IOF Council awarded the World Masters Orienteering Championships 2012 to Germany. The event will be held in Bad Harzburg, Lower Saxony. Sprint final will be staged in the historic town of Goslar, which has UNESCO world heritage status.

The organiser’s motto is Sport, Nature and Culture unite: the competitions shall be won by the best masters orienteers in the world, they shall be a social forum for all masters orienteers, and they shall develop orienteering as a sport for the general public.

The IOF Council further appointed Italy the organiser of World Masters Orienteering Championships 2013, which will be staged as part of the World Masters Games 2013 in Turin.
