Ski orienteering world elite meets at Winter Military World Games
When the ski orienteering event at the first CISM Winter World Games in Aosta Valley, Italy takes place on Tuesday 25 March, there are four World Champions on the start line. Eduard Khrennikov and Natalya Tomilova, who just a few days ago secured the overall World Cup 2010 victories, will have a tough fight to win the middle distance mass start race. Khrennikov will have to defeat the winner of the last World Cup race, Olli-Markus Taivainen, whereas Tomilova is challenged by her team mate Tatiana Vlasova, who won two of the three World Cup races she participated in this year.
It will also be interesting to follow the three-time winner of the Swedish long-distance cross-country ski race Vasaloppet, and a good foot orienteer, Oskar Svärd challenging the world ski orienteering elite at the Winter World Games.
